Fatty sucks, and while Keaton is sometimes a bright spot in these films that's not the case here.

Early Buster Keaton short. The story was fairly dull and Buster Keaton was severely underused.

Another worthless one.

The first plot-heavy picture from Arbuckle's days running things at Comique turns out OK enough, if not terribly memorable. At least things are paced out enough to give the characters a little personality for once.

Roscoe's womanizing again, and not enough St. John and Keaton to make this more fun.

It's tough for me to rate anything with Keaton in it as less than average, but this one really didn't use him much at all. The redeeming part was the absence of the always-present food fight scene. Sadly, this one is one of the worst of the shorts.

I found this two-reeler interesting because it is earliest film with gambling and swindling I've seen, and it got me making parallels to "The Sting". Of course it's just a setting to the regular slapstick. Also an embarrassing role for Buster who acts an old-looking kid who constantly cries.
