This organized compilation of archival footage is nothing less than a horror documentary. The images show destitute Austrian children in 1918, dead Russian children in 1920, the mutilated faces and shattered bodies of veterans of the First World War, Mussolini rising to power.... The filmmakers reverse the chronological order of events in order to bring to life a profoundly disturbing idea: the appalling casualties of today are born of the political monstrosities of tomorrow.
