Okko's Inn

It's not life-changing or anything but it's cute I guess. A neat little addition to the impressively deep roster of anime films coming directly from the ashes of Ghibli.

This is not one of the better Anime type films I've seen but its not bad either. It has some nice animation at points, with glowing bright plants and a nice atmosphere but it doesn't tend to last too long. The main animation style seemed a little cheap feeling and while I liked the basic story, it didn't entirely hold my attention throughout. It's a nice enough watch, with some nice moments and an element of poignancy present but its not memorable or better than other anime films.

This movie has some crazy tonal shifts and at times it felt like a condensed TV show. Honestly though I enjoyed the hell out of it.

The anime film felt like it was a shortened version of one season of TV anime series aimed at 6-10 year olds, except for the dramatic event toward the end.

Sappy but heartwarming and enjoyable. Wife and kids all loved it. Great visuals. Can't help but feel like it would've been a better fit for a TV anime series though.

Failed to engage emotionally, despite tear jerking moments.
