Oldboys

I have rarely seen a movie with a plot as thin as this. For most of the movie, the narrative has virtually no substance and gets by simply on allowing Rasmus Bjerg and Ole Thestrup to do what they do best. It does have a slight evolvement towards the end however and you do find yourself hoping that everything works out for the best for the main characters, which brings the score up a bit. Overall it's just not that great though.

Good, if a bit pedestrian. Halken and Hansen were both pretty fun to watch. And I liked the score by Tina Dickow.

If you can scratch away the rather thin plot youre in for a little treat. The summer/fall landscape of Sweden flashes by as we follow both the Oldboys team and the John/Vagn/Jeanne crew. Its about taking care of each other, friendship and not giving up, but even though the film is somewhat poorly executed and the characters evolve way to quickly, it still hits spot on, on some of its funny parts. At least if youre a dane!

A very underrated film. Definitely worthy of a view.
