I found this to be mostly dull with annoying and repetitive edits.

Just beautiful simplicity and a dreamy look at the artistic life during the Summer of Love. There is so much to love here, but the incredible houseboat community is so inspiring as a vision of freedom; can one even imagine a life like this today? Of course, storm-clouds are always hanging around paradise, and it's poignant to juxtapose this film with Varda's Black Panther film or Gimme Shelter to see the creeping shadows in the Bay ("War, it's just a shot away...")

Cute little art documentary about Varda's Greek distant relative she met in San Francisco, an old hippie artist with such an unique lifestyle -- houseboat, to more specific. "We can't live without color". The multiple reenactments of their meeting are truly cute.

Heightened and artful travelogue, time capsule, home movie, family portrait. Uncle Yanco is a charmer, speaking in rosey poetics of a new anti-materialist, anti-establishment generation in a heavenly city of flourishing creativity. Hindsight shades things a bit darker though, that we now know how the boomers moved so far right from hippiedom, and San Francisco became the postcard of an utterly forbidding economic gap.

"Eu acho que a única maneira de não ter que sucumbir à humilhação final da vida, que é a psicanálise, é ir ao mar uma vez por semana." EXATO.
