The American remake of Miike Takashi's hilariously frightening j-horror mashup retells a similair plot with none of Miike's sardonic brilliance to recclaim it. What's left over is the definitive 21st century B-movie attempting to recreate what Miike satarized with One Missed Call.

I enjoyed watching it with my friends but it was some of the least scary, laughable shit I've ever seen. None of it makes any sense and everything is so implausible that it just becomes frustrating. Horror has failed me again.

I can't remember if I finished this or not but what I remember was hilarious on par with The Wicker Man at times.

I watched the Japanese original and I thought for once I'd watch the American remake too so I could compare. I lasted a painful 45 minutes before deciding enough was enough. The original was bad but this made me taste my dinner again.

One Missed Call is possibly the most uninspired movie I've ever seen in my life. Never before have I seen such a tired, redundant movie that makes zero sense, fails miserably by its genre rules, and ultimately simply sucks on every objective level. That being said, it's funny. There are moments that will make you laugh out loud by how stupid it is. One Missed Call is the first new release of the year, and will surely stand as one of the worst come year's end.

This was clearly 2deep4me as I struggled to figure out any way for any of it to make any sense. Oh, and those effects? HI-LA-RI-OUS.

I haven't seen the original but considering it was directed by one of the best asian directors out there, I can imagine it's a damn sight better than this...

This is what you get if you take Final Destination and heavily water it down by taking out the gore and interesting domino effect deaths. The producers must have had to gut this movie to get the PG-13 rating, so I can't tell if that is why it sucks or if it was just badly written... but the movie sucks, in any case.

Original was far better, but as a spin-off (not a remake) it works.

Some of the worst acting I've seen in years. We have not actors but a bunch of statues walking around delivering dialogue made of stone. Someone arrived to the set with a trashbag filled with horror cliches and handed them out to the crew and said "here, let's make a movie." I gave it 10 points because it has decent production value and camera work, and it made me laugh out loud at how bad it is.

Not quite worthy of the 0% it has on RT, but it certainly isn't any good.

"Takeshi Miike's original 2003 One Missed Call was second-rate techno-phobic J-horror tripe, meaning that Eric Valette's even lousier American remake is something like the next generation of suck." - Nick Schager

What it has going for it are quick pacing and an interesting enough concept. But, it features particularly awful effects and no especially great performances- most of the acting is passable, but nobody stands out. The plot is fairly simple and meddling, up until an admittedly interesting final twist that bumps it up slightly. Ultimately, it's a perfectly harmless, perfectly typical mid-2000's horror flick.

I seem to really dislike japanese-type horror... Seriously, these stories make absolutely no sense. American teen splatters may be boring and stupid, but at least they're not totally brainless.

Blah, this movie was terrible. You could see every death coming, and even then each one was just not entertaining.
