Most of these true-life tragic docudramas feel pretty similar and this is no exception. It does, however, have a wonderfully likable cast that makes it a decent watch.

A tribute movie to a true story of brave men. Very well executed and believeable performances from everyone. The ending was a bit of a let down, but I guess there were limits to what they could do with the ending for obvious reasons.

I'd rather have watched a movie about the bear.

I'd have never pegged it as being from the same director as Tron Legacy and Oblivion - where those films felt more sterile and computer generated this one has more of a rugged, sweaty Peter Berg feel to it. It almost leapfrogs through events so quickly it has a vaguely feature-length montage feel to it at points, but in the end there is an undeniable emotional impact.

I dreaded going to see this but I couldn't not. It's one of those movies you feel you need to see to get a dose of historic reality, like "Schindler's List, "United 93" or "World Trade Center", so that you understand better what happened, and remember. But for me at least, it's only the once. The reality of it is incredibly evident.

I guess I'm a sucker for hard-knock-working-class-dusty-small-town stories. The fiery CGI animals were a silly connective tissue.

Brolin, Teller, Kitsch are the standouts and as the film progresses the emotion begins to lead us into the final act of a film that we are already knew the ending to. That does not take away from the emotional realization of just how many people were affected by this tragedy. A sad and sobering film about true heroes who risk their lives every moment of every day.

A supremely affecting bag of clichés that works a lot better than it has any right to. Watching Jeff Bridges break down while really trying not to break down is a downright fucking killer. This one got to me.

An incredible story with a heartbreaking outcome. It was easy to get emotionally involved with the characters of this true story. Excellent production quality and music. Brolin excelled in this, but who in their right mind would ever leave Jennifer Connelly to go fight fires?

If you can handle a script in which characters state already obvious subtext out loud, this is a fairly decent watch.

A bit of an odd movie to review as the first 3/4 of the film is just so so. You're neither bored but also not entertained. But the last quarter of the movie pulled me in unexpectedly without being overly emotional.

Was so glad I got to this one. Based on true events, the move chronicles these hero firefighters (Granite Mountain Hot Shots).

Subtle and great performances all around; fantastic building of suspense and characters. The ending lost me, should have been longer and more thoughtful.

Oh God, even past the tragedy the film remains so full of itself; For example, there's a scene near the end between Connelly and Teller that makes me wonder how both of them even kept a straight face. Also, the white people meter was off the charts. Seriously, had I been Trump, I would've been pissed too for losing that state.

The movie has a stellar cast and the true story that it recounts is a devastating one. The pacing felt a bit uneven at times so that it did drag on in some places, but not enough to make one grow bored. The leapfrogging just could have been fixed.
