Only the Valiant

Gregory Peck didn't like this film, but I did, and that's what's important. Sure, it's a little slow in portions, but I found the collective of outcasts under Peck's guidance a satisfying one. The frankness, the grueling hatred between them, created a fascinating dynamic. That way it didn't need overly complicated sets or over-do it's violence, for the story was firmly rooted in the hard emotions between the cavalry troop members themselves. And I was captivated by that.
