Open Range

the shoot out was chilling. most of the cinematography was good, but some of it just looked too picture perfect.

The final shootout is as exciting and well-choreographed as any on film. Duvall does what he does best, and so, for that matter, does Costner, both as actor and director.

The best western film since unforgiven. Brilliant acting. Excellent set design, cinematography, and costume. It's a classic western story of men seeking justice in a lawless place.

Open Range-with Robert Duvall, Excellent

I don't like westerns, I never have. Except for Open Range. I don't know why, but there was something about this that managed to keep my attention to the end. Maybe it was just shinier.

The plot is slow to build up initially and the main nuisance I found with it were the scenes featuring torrential downpours, in which a lot of dialogue is spoken, as the noise of the rainfall made it harder to follow. I thought Annette Bening gave a good performance while both Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner also gave good performances. There's some pretty decent, sometimes thought provoking; if not insightful, dialogue. The final 'showdown', as it were, was very good - I thought it was gripping

This is my ex boyfriend's favorite movie. I get it. It is beautifully filmed and the characters are fantastic.

Got bored after about an hour and stopped watching. Didn't really care about any of the characters.

Kevin Costner's lackluster performance is saved by Robert Duval, but in the end the movie turns out to be lacking in some areas.

Generic as fuck but well made and enjoyable.

If you sleep through the first 2 hours of this movie, then you'll wake up to a cool shootout, which is the highlight of the movie. Kevin Costner sucks.

Kevin Costner's movies are always something special. This one is pretty typical western with is own crooked sheriff as a must. I would say that Costner is succeeded here to maintain audience interest. For the viewers who like to see how revenge comes through in American way
