Operation Crossbow

Could have been much better, uses some stock footage, and the story was a bit slow for a spy-type movie.

I wouldn't call it "the top screen adventure of the year!" It's not that it's boring or anything, but there isn't much more you can do besides show the heroism of these men and women. Sophia Loren is advertised prominently but she hardly has a role here. Fav scenes: Hanna (Barbara Rutting) flying the V-1 rocket; Robert Henshaw (Tom Courtenay) refusing to give up his cover even to death.

Good stuff, love the cast. All sorts of familiar faces.

Baffling mishmash of spy movie and war movie cliches. The weird thing is that the villains aren't really the Nazis-- for whom the musical score bizarrely saves all the 'happy' music for-- but those who nay say or doubt the government's necessity to strike first and hard. Very Cold War, very noticeable. Oh, and George Peppard couldn't convince me he was a German wearing liederhosen with two schnitzels shoved up his nose; Sophie Loren is in it for maybe five minutes. So strange.

Good film.

LOVED this movie. Great action, adventure and WWII thriller! Peppard was outstanding in the lead. Though Sophia Loren is in the movie, it is a smaller part, so be aware of that. Shows all sides of intelligence gathering and military strategy coming together.
