There are no real characters here: everybody in the film is smarter, stronger, more capable, more courageous and more beautiful than their enemies. There are no stakes and no character development either. There are the standard comic relief guy, black guy, strong female lead. Everybody's quirky and knowledgeable and capable. I question what the point of modern cinema is even - it's all the same bland purposeless garbage. The only fun factor is Hugh Grant. /c Cine Grand Ring Mall Sofia

Disappointing for a movie from Guy Ritchie

Throughout the movie I had feeling like there are no real stakes. Every setback was resolved instantly by fighting someone or hacking something. There was never a question if they will get it but only when. Grant was great, Stantham predictable and Plaza mediocre. Guy Ritchie can do better than this.

While Ritchie is known for his fast pace, Operation Fortune feels somewhat rushed and half-baked. From the dialogue to the characters to the ending in Doha; everything just slightly misses the mark. Classic Bond meets Mission Impossible 2 is probably the best way to describe this film. It's simple; it's fun; but I feel I like I've seen it before. I liked the cast, even if none of the actors are stretching themselves (Grant's direction seems to have been "do what you did in The Gentlemen").

Lots of extra points for being just plain fun. Aubrey Plaza was magnificent. Jason Statham his usual confident self. Hugh Grant surprisingly good. Josh Hartnett was hilarious. Lots of other good performances. It's a bit of James Bond meets Mission Impossible. The actual story points were implausible, impossible and ridiculous. The pacing and humor worked, but the body count was absurdly high. Worth watching if you don't pay much attention to the details.

Typical Guy Ritchie movie, a bit less inspired than usual. As usual, the pacing makes it fun to watch from start to end, but it feels like this could have been a bit more.

Not the most novel movie ever, and sometimes it just seems odd or offbeat like when something almost normal happens in a dream but you still feel like something's wrong. It's kinda fun in the end still, mostly for the characters more than the story

Chyba najsłabszy film Ritchiego, który tak naprawdę nie wygląda jak jego film. Brak specyficznego stylu i dobrego montażu, a wszystko sztampowe, nie śmieszne, a dodatkowo okraszone drętwymi dialogami. Intryga sztuczna i przesadzona. Jedynym plusem jest chyba tylko obsada i muzyka.

The opening, with the way the music (being built around the footsteps of the one character walking) and the action interact... that's vintage Ritchie. The rest of the movie lacks the wit, style and charm of vintage Ritchie, despite a cast that I really like. The closest it gets again is the end shootout, but even that is lesser than the stuff he has done before. I still enjoyed this but I'm disappointed.

not sure why ritchie directed this. seems like a cookie cutter action movie with a mission impossible flair. very tightly edited, so it doesn't drag but it's not really memorable neither. a lot of magical hacking abound.

Its really all about the beautiful comic timing of Hugh Grant and Aubrey Plaza who are both scintillating. Everything else is the standard Guy Ritchie window dressing.

A bit Guy Ritchie-by-the-books for me. It's enjoyable enough but vapid. It doesn't play with cliches, it accidentally embraces them.

I’m a decent fan of the Ritchie/Statham team up, and this is no different. Operation Fortune’s best attribute has to be its great cast & characters. Hugh Grant in particular was having a ball, but all these characters were really fun and I think Ritchie’s dialogue actually works well for the kind of movie this aimed to be. It’s not the most creative story or anything, but it exceeds quite well within this little story of characters and I had a good time with it. I’m happy with this.

I'm not sure what was worse - the characters as they were written and the dialogue they were given or the pacing of the film, but for a Ritchie / Statham film including Hugh Grant, this was terribly disappointing. And by disappointing, I mean painful.

Tries to re-enact the succesful Sherlock Holmes films, but falls short. The beginning drags on for far too long and when the action finally kicks in, you've fallen asleep already. Still, quite entertaining, witty dialogue at times and the actors do well enough job.

Statham is coasting, Grant is Grant and Plaza and Hartnett try their hardest to make this less lackluster but the dialogue is just not funny. The score, however, is spectacularly cool.

This movie takes a good ensemble cast and then doesn't do a whole lot of anything interesting with them. With a better script this could have been a better movie. Overall this film is disappointing.

I liked it better than Man from UNCLE or Six Underground. There is something about Guy Ritchie's movie, some dialogs are just fantastic, and there is a play with the genre, a sort of semi-serious self-parodying movie. I had a good time watching it! And the score is great as usual.

Despite Ritchie's efforts to create an original laid-back spy film, "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre" ultimately falls flat. The humor and action scenes are lackluster, and while there are some standout performances from Josh Hartnett and Cary Elwes, they aren't enough to salvage the film. If you're in the mood for a Guy Ritchie action spy comedy that also stars Hugh Grant, it's better to just watch "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." instead.

It's like a spy action comedy written by a robot. All of the usual elements are there but absolutely nothing unique or interesting is done with any of them. The story's twists and turns are insultingly predictable, the art design, dialogue and music are very forgettable, and not only are the characters boring and each actor under-utilized, none of them has an arc of any kind. Not even the actor within the movie; its very own conceit ends up amounting to next to nothing. That says it all.

Good action sequences, but is missing something. Plaza's typical offbeat humour felt shoehorned in at times. Good actors but avg script this go round. Ritchie doesn't miss often is what I said w the Covenant. This was one of his lesser efforts but still worth a viewing for Statham's action scenes and Grant's character.
