Some of this is absolutely hilarious and remains funny, even today. However a lot of the humour based around gender is based around "oh those clumsy women and their women things" which really hasn't aged well at all. Still Cary Grant and Tony Curtis are superb and the good far outweighs the bad making this well worth seeing.

Hilarious. A good example of how a comedy can use risque jokes without delving into gross-out or offensive humour.

This is pretty hilarious, but can we take a moment to appreciate Tony Curtis' beautiful eyes? Back to the comedy, there are a few surprisingly funny moments (blackface!) but I'm left puzzled over the statement that the Japanese don't have lingerie like that. The women are gorgeous in uniform but I wish they had more variety in gags. Fav scene: pulling up at the end and wishing they arrived at nighttime instead.

Cary Grant stars as commander of a ramshackle submarine, while Tony Curtis is the uptight officer swindling parts to repair it, they also have to pick-up a group of stranded nurses, which results in even more shenanigans. This is nothing special, but still amusing and watchable thanks to Grant and Curtis. Edwards does manage to screw up some jokes by not delivering the punchline visually on time.

Very of its time, but enjoyable.

It's two hours of nothing happening on a submarine so it has no right to be as amazingly enjoyable as it was. I thought Grant as the sub Captain was gonna be an average role for him, but he is on top of his game as this world-weary, sarcastic Captain who just wants to do things by the book and get the job over with. The problem is red tape and Tony Curtis are getting in the way of that and then OH NO a bunch of women come on board.

Funny, enjoyable and heart-warming. Cary Grant and Tony Curtis are terrific as usual.

Sexist and dated WW II comedy that still has a few good laughs.

Very entertaining. It's more comedy than romance.

Cary Grant was such a consummate professional. His performance as the sub captain thinly veiling his exasperation is the best thing about this lumbering comedy which, scattered titters aside, is dreary when it's not being misogynistic. Tony Curtis is an obnoxious presence throughout.

Occasionally very funny, but always at the very least extremely charming.
