Nicely painted, but the story and the characters are kind of crude.

Beautiful music and animation. The story, however, could use some work to match the rest of the movie.

Story wasnt as great, but im such an postapocalyptic junkie, that i couldnt bring myself not to like the film. Looked so good, worldbuilding was so good, that sucky characters and dull plot couldnt ruin it :)

Pretty interesting. A bit too in-your-face about environmentalism.

A solid enough eco-fable. It looks great (and the opening is fairly awesome), but both the story and the characters feel underdeveloped and bland. Also: "TOOOOOLLLLAAAAAAAA!!!!".

Tries to do too much in too little time. Great visuals and sound, a world that is potentially interesting, and characters which could serve for an exciting story. It just doesn't all fit together, and many scenes felt like loose parts awkwardly chained together. Certainly not the worst entry in this genre, but nothing you absolutely have to see either.

They could have at least developed one of the characters, and there's a difference between being artistic and pulling plot out of your arse. Also, WHERE DID THE MAGMA COME FROM?! Remember people, fire bad, tree pretty!

Nice animation, but the story, inspired by early studio Ghibli films is bland and contrived. Characters are pretty dull too. Unlike movies by Miyazaki, where main characters are children too, this one is hardly accessible for adults.

A beautiful and at times stunning mix of 2D animation and 3D effects that ultimately is more style then substance. While the premise of this film is interesting it is hardly developed at all.The characters are paper thin and fleshed out just a little past there stereotypical roles. The backstory is nearly none existent. This could be a quality anime series if they address the problems I mentioned but as a movie it's just an average film that I found disappointing.

Great score, outstanding animations..but the story is too random.couldn't get into that conflict between humanity and nature...seen that theme much better in miyazaki's "Castle in the Sky" !
