This movie only has one thing going for it: Angelina eye candy, and even at that this movie is at best mediocre.

What a piece of shit.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about: a gloriously trashy, Mills & Boon bodice ripper that goes over the top in piling on absurd plot twists and ludicrously steamy sex scenes, but attempts respectability by gussying up with charismatic stars and glossy production values (the cinematography alone is deep and rich enough to drown in). A fatal mistake at any point in the production would have been to take this material seriously, and thankfully Banderas and Jolie appear to have no pretensions.

Original Sin is, at best, a movie. At worst, it's an incoherent mess that's masquerading as a movie, just like its characters are pretending to be human beings. Like them, it gets down many of the mannerisms of its emulation target, but also like them, it doesn't come off as believable. It is nothing more than a failed effort. It looks the part but doesn't act it, and as a result is difficult to watch and hard to follow.

A story framed by a flashback, a cynical hero, a sultry femme fatale, and the protagonist's descent into crime and depravity as a result of some misguided emotions-- all the elements are in place for a film noir potboiler.

Angelina Jolie is beautiful to watch, and that's all about it.

Slow, plodding, dumb......but it has Angelina and a few steamy scenes, so it has that going for it.

Angelina doesn't make the best movies but she ALWAYS looks so damn good that I don't care.
