There's definitely emotional bits and the girls do a great job, especially the adopted girl in question, Ann Blyth. Yet, one can't help feel they could have gotten a lot more out of it. They were almost scared of tackling the complicated issue of the biological mother and instead focused on the loving family that raised her, giving the message that the woman who adopted her away didn't have any rights to her. The scene where they meet is so short and chaotic. Film was sweet, though.
