The stooges go out west for Shemp's health and get mixed up with some bad guys. The villains have locked up the Arizona Kid and their leader plans to marry his girl, Nell. The boys help the Arizona Kid escape and he rides to fetch the Cavalry. Somehow, the stooges manage to defeat the bad guys before the Cavalry arrives. (imdb)

All the classic stuff but there's something of the spark missing from it. There's a lot of setups for gags that seem to go nowhere too. It's all by the numbers for our boys.

The Larry, Moe, & Shemp combo are a bit smarter than the Larry, Moe, & Curly line up which makes even the reused gags seem a bit fresher. In this one again Shemp is the main star with the other guys acting more like sidekicks. Points off for using the same box routine in two consecutive shorts.
