Out of Time

If not for the ending this would be a perfectly acceptable thriller. Washington is one of those actors I could watch doing just about anything.

I ahve a soft spot for Eva Mendes so she deserved most of the points for this movie. Also Denzel is decent as always, though ending is bit disappointing.

A decent b-movie. Washington was solid, Mendes was bearable, Billingsley not so much. Good pace with an acceptable plot. Fine for an indifferent school night. *Okay

Decent neo-noir with a cop-out Hollywood bullshit happy ending that leaves far too many loose ends dangling.

Not the type of movie I'm into But it's not bad

Woof that ending. For most of its running time, Out of Time is a very decent thrill ride. Denzel is sweaty and cool under pressure and Eva Mendes just lights up the screen. Once everything gets tied up in a pretty bow the seams start to show.

I don't remember this movie at all but I'm gonna go out on a limb and risk skewing every rating in the world because this is the movie my husband and I watched on our first date.

Modern spin on noir tropes almost succeeds thanks to a strong cast: Washington's perfect arrogant cockiness distracts from his implausible character; tender work from Mendes, and surprisingly great machismo bluster from Cain, are a good match. Franklin avoids taking the tale seriously, staging gloriously over-the-top action scenes (the hotel balcony). The daffiness of the screenplay denies the film the nihilistic ending it deserves, though did we need such a tonally inappropriate coda?

Popcorn flick (i.e. don't think too hard) but pretty exciting nonetheless.

Some action but not much entertainment as a story.

Weird. The first 20 minutes I couldn't figure out what the movie was about and after 25 minutes I knew everything, could have told you the ending already. Very predictable. Bad ending. I only gave the film 55 because I found it funny. When we saw how he tried to save his ass, it looked more like a comedy than an action movie. Too bad, not a good movie.

Another bs Denzel film

A hugely entertaining thriller, and with no other aspirations to be simply what it is.

Police chief must clear himself. A good Denzel film.

Standard noirish cop thriller that almost manages to build up a head of steam before unsurprisingly trailing off in the third act.

It's okay to steal money and give it to your mistress if your estranged wife sends divorce papers. A decent thriller, but Denzel's wishy-washy amorality is confusing as fuck at the end.

This movie makes me so mad. So completely implausible and the ending is ridiculous and stupid. Denzel tries his hardest, which gives it some points.

Time is not the only thing this flick is out of.

Not a bad little b-movie. It takes awhile to get going, but once it does it manages to remain suspenseful until about five minutes before the ending. It's not really a true neo-noir (the ending is too optimistic). Franklin relentlessly sticks to the plot, at the expense of character development. Some characters were deliberately underdeveloped just so they could commit any action in the film's last act and it would be believable because, after all, we don't really know anything about them.

Entertaining neo-noir. Denzel Washington is very good but I'm not a fan of Dean Cain. To be fair though, when you're acting against Denzel Washington that's got to suck. Better than average thriller.

A thriller so lukewarm and forgettable you can neither summon love nor hate for it.

Somehwhat pleasing whodunit in sweaty South Florida, with a game Denzel giving his all to an underwritten character. Not bad time waster.

Clever and well worth a watch.

Denzel Washington gives another fine performance in this film. However the script is nothing special and the story never really gets interesting. John Billingsley does have a few funny moments. Overall, I can not recommend this movie.

Aren't we a little old for insurance murder / fraud stories.

Not a top of the line edge of your seat thriller, but It is Denzel and can he really be bad?

Most of the time, I enjoy a lot Washington's work, but not this time.

Another neo-noir from director Franklin and star Washington who earlier made Devil in a Blue Dress together. Unfortunately this a run of the mill effort that is only worth to watch for Florida locations and maybe to see Denzel is a slightly different role. See the previous co-operation instead.

A simple and entertaining thriller that for me it worked.

An entertaining crime flick with Denzel Washington to look at. Can't go much wrong.
