You may have witnessed the miracle of childbirth. You may have experienced the awe-inspiring words of MLK Jr, Gandhi, and Nelson Mandela. You may have stood atop ancient Kilimanjaro and gazed out upon Africa's majesty as Phoebus dips beneath her fruited plains. But, you cannot say you have TRULY lived until you have heard Nic Cage's British accent. Confuscius asks: is it racist if a Chinese company puts up tens of millions of dollars to produce a movie about white guys saving China?

The cover art of Outcast has been haunting me for years: Nic Cage and Hayden Christensen staring, taunting, nay, daring me to watch them stumble through a Chinese investor money-laundering scheme filled with embarrassing dialogue and a go-nowhere plot. Hayden does his best to redeem himself after killing a bunch of Younglings, but it's Cage's Houdini-like (disappearing or drowning underwater, God knows) British accent that leaves an undeserved lasting impression in an otherwise forgettable film.

Possibly the most flat and pointless movie to ever be. Not even bad enough to be entertaining in its badness, just dull, totally expected and one dimension. The one fragment of interest was the mutually-blackmailing-each-other relationship between the General and the "bad" Prince.

Outcast is a horrible movie in which Hayden Christensen gets to go to China and fight bad guys in terrible fight scenes. Does that sound like a good time to you? I sincerely hope not. Even if it does, Outcast is a terrible movie with no redeeming features that's been lazily put together. Why? I don't know, as it doesn't seem like it has the potential to make lots of money. Maybe the filmmakers genuinely hoped they were making something good. The resulting film is anything but.

Cage joins the group of extinguished acting heroes like Willis, Slater and Cussack. A bland, boring and long-winded story. What a boring movie ! My opinion : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/2015/01/outcast-2014.html

The opening Crusader sequence seemed well done and compelling. But when the focus moves to China, not so much. It was confusing. Lots of action but uninteresting. I just wanted it to be over. If you are looking for a good Crusader movie, watch Kingdom of Heaven.

Wow! This film is just begging to join the canon of Mystery Science Theater! We have a bunch of crusaders in nativity costumes! Starring Nicholas Cage (best known for Left Behind, I mean Leaving Las Vegas) and Hayden Christensen (who final got hired again after the whole Star Wars debacle)!

Maybe there's something to be said for going into movies with zero expectations. For all of its (many) failings, Outcast does at least manage to look like an actual movie most of the time, and, in the brief amount of time that Nic Cage is in it, flirts with being campy fun.

All the right kinds of incredibly bad. Anakin Skywalker laments killing all the younglings, while Nicolas Cage re-enters the movie after an hour and shows off a cool hat and snake he probably found five minutes before arriving on set. Also, absolutely no one, not a single actor in this movie even tries to do this acting thing, which is bad, since the scenery and costumes actually look kind of good.

I was going in hoping for crazy Cage and he didn't disappoint, but he wasn't in it enough. Suffering through the first half of the film without him mainly focused on Hayden Christensen with two people who may be worse at acting wasn't worth it.

It's another Chinese sword action movie in which they throw in some oddly cast white guys, I guess in hope it can be sold in the West too (other examples: The Great Wall, Dragon Blade). They made efforts, but it's still not that good over all. As always, Nic Cage sounds like he was acting for a completely different movie in there.

There’s nothing to the plot or characters, but there’s money in the project and it’s filmed in China, so it’s not ugly to look at. And that’s the best you can say about it, really! I’d love to know what accents Cage and Christensen thought they were doing, because whatever they were attempting (RP? Cockney? Brogue? Scandi?) they failed.

It's far from unique, but it's a passable action flick, and the acting isn't half as bad as the script.

This film badly needs more scenes with Nicolas Cage, there are not enough scenes with him in them. The script is mostly boring and this movie drags on. Overall this film is a big disappointment.
