I felt like this was Michael Bluth but no awkward comedy, just very aggressive melodrama and mexican drug cartel. I am not really sure exactly where the wheels fell off because it has all the makings of a huge success. I ultimately think Bateman was the wrong casting choice and it made me check out on a very laissez faire main character. I hate Marty Byrde he is needlessly and epicly callous for no real narrative reason. The man should be a nervous wreck. He was written wrong. Plain and simple.

Takes itself far too seriously. It's like Breaking Bad without the jokes, and what the fuck with that blue filter and will someone please turn the lights on

A sort of spiritual successor to Bloodline, but much more tightly focused. It has the same local mentality mixed with crimes affecting a family, but it also is incredibly well shot and written. Batemen is perfect as a smarmy everyman and Linney adds some depth to to the dynamic. Really well made first season, and might be the best show on Netflix right now.

Jason Bateman should only play characters who make monotone sarcastic/dead-pan one liners. He doesn't have the range to pull this off, but despite this Ozark remains watchable.. that is until the ending of season two, which takes all the potential of the building plot lines and suspense and shoves them all in the toilet in favour of possibly the most boring ending the series could have had.

S1-3 would be about 75, pretty compelling overall and Linney & Garner are fantastic. Though it is annoying how so many important people barge into things alone without bodyguards and end up getting killed, and how the most dangerous Mexican drug cartel comprises of about five guys. S4 is absolute dogshit though, maybe a score of 20-25; they introduce too many new characters and everything feels rushed. Especially disappointing as the ending of S3 was one of the best season finales in television.

From the get-go, you can always feel the aim to make another Breaking Bad, this time even darker, it's too calculated and that's inevitably a problem. But... You have to give it some chance, because towards the Season 1 finale, it becomes something quite powerful by itself.

Fizzles a bit toward the end, but it’s a great ride along the way with the first two seasons being some of the best TV that’s ever been created.

After finishing the series... it had some great highs but almost completely lost me by the end. Season 1 was really good, 2 was weak, 3 was a return to form (maybe even the peak of the series), and then season 4 shit the bed.

Well made show, but the characters and subject matter, both dark, and kind of crappy. These are not good people... To commit to the show and take the long ride, I need characters I can link up with and find some common ground. But that's not gonna happen here. So, while expertly done, it's just not my show.

The first three season, especially season 3 is amazing on all aspects. Season 4, although keeping up with the technical aspect and atmosphere of the show, with its story takes a deep fall and just goes stupidly crazy and wild.. But you still, somehow watch it. It a decent show that holds itself together but not one of the most amazing ones.

Another addition to the US's Trumpian obsession with Mexican drug smugglers, this time in the form of a fish-out-of-water story. Kind of Breaking Bad meets Northern Exposure, but with its stock characters and average writing, disappointingly less than the sum of those parts.

The blue filter is really draining. I dislike most of the characters, in the sense that they are poorly written and one dimensional. Overall, with some suspension of disbelief its alright.

One of the best shows that Netflix has churned out. It's a good companion piece to Breaking Bad, as it deals with similar themes and character traits. Wendy Byrd is easily one of the most cuntiest of cunty characters in tv history. In fact, I'd say 99% of the characters on this show need to be taken out behind the woodshed and put down.

Shit show, in the good sense. Only bad things happen to everyone and essentially, there are no good guys. Jason Bateman's character is screwed over the most, with literally everyone else's decisions impacting him horrendously. It's quite captivating, rarely a dull moment. However, season 3 drops the ball and every hour feels like two. Season 4 almost perfectly wrapped up everyone's story. It was a pleasure to watch.
