I enjoyed it. Having two people reliving the same day together instead of just one made it more ambitious than I thought it would. Samberg is pretty convincing as a normal guy and Milioti was also very solid. That revelation regarding the cave halfway through felt a bit out of left field for me, but who am I to judge the science of something that doesn't exist? I really dug what they did with its themes of loneliness and dealing with past mistakes. This was a pretty fun time!

While every time loop movie is destined for comparisons to "Groundhog Day" this one is clearly the most fitting facsimile of the classic trope. It's at times funny, serious, carefree, and thrilling. It's a sun drenched copy for another generation, adequately made, sincere and guiltless in its appropriation.

Pretty darn pleasant piece of fluff that moves along at an enjoyable pace, knowingly aware of the conventions in which it treads and never belaboring a point. Already knew Milioti was really good but Samberg impresses here by playing a type of character somewhat outside his usual repertoire. The big flaw here is that the movie is actually TOO brisk and the central relationship develops too quickly, making a central character development feel more written than actually felt.

Looks like I totally missed the quarantine watch party judging by the numerous kumpel reviews. Fun Groundhog Day take that adds some new twists but really has me wondering what happens when their timelines don't sync up. JK Simmons was used for just the right amount. The supporting characters were too distractingly diverse (and beautiful). Samberg was very sane given the circumstances. Milioti makes me yearn for a better HIMYM ending. Fav scene: camping and seeing the dinosaurs in the distance.

Palm Springs is more than just an update to Groundhog’s Day. It’s certain to strike a chord with a new generation and one day become a classic itself. Putting two people into the day-on-repeat cycle is a fresh enough gimmick, the added weight of a modern existential crises gives it poignant lasting appeal. Plus, it’s funny!

Not a bad take on the Groundhog Day premise. Samberg plays this pretty straight, which he does capably, if not perplexingly in a movie that sometimes begs for over the top. I really think Milloti steals the show here for the most part.

Palm Springs is a lot more palatable than Tiger King. I liked it until I really liked it and then I got a little disappointed with it. SPOILERS I desperately wanted her to knowingly press the button early in the cave , allowing them to live in the loop for as long as she liked. But that's me. Who knows? I'm the guy that thought the finale of Futurama SPOILERS should've ended with them not going back because it was already perfect. Maybe I'm just exhausted in general.

I laughed out loud only a couple of times but that's a good amount for me especially when it's a short 90 minutes that kept me grinning the rest of the time. The script is very clever, building on the Groundhog Day idea in just a couple of ways but taking the concept to a different level by doing so. The romantic thread isn't surprising but the rest is entertainingly unpredictable.

It ends up being a rather breezy take on the time loop idea but I was completely okay with it. That's not to say that it lacked heart because there was definitely one beating there. What surprised me was how effectively it actually explored its themes... it made me consider certain things that other time loop movies haven't. Milioti and Samberg were really good together and while not the funniest movie, there were some pretty crackin' jokes in there, like watering dog shit.

Palm Springs blends RomCom with time-loops for a film that is well-paced & fun to watch. While the concept isn't completely original (Groundhog Day, About Time), the film aptly leans into the comedy. Amongst a cast of CW actors, Milioti & Samberg do a great job to deliver laughs & some well-earned emotional moments. While Simmons occasionally popping up adds the perfect amount of chaos. While the film is often ridiculous, it's pitched at a level where that doesn't matter & is better off for it.

Wow was not expecting this cute and well fleshed out rom-com. Andy Samberg's comedy is normally very hit or miss for me, normally a little to much "the punchline is penis". But this is just touching and sometimes laugh out loud hilarious moment after touching hilarious moment. The script is smart and world builds subtlety with just how long this "time loop" has been going on and the characters in it. The chemistry between Samberg and Milioti was so good, I was cheering them on the whole time.

I will watch anything with a time loop, even if it's meh, but this was really good! Milioti and Samberg were wonderful together, I laughed out loud a bunch of times, the romance sparked, the casting was so good. It even manages to fix the power imbalance in Groundhog Day were Murray knew everything about his love interest. Loved it, adding it to my rotation of 'rainy day' films.

I'm a sucker for time travel films, especially those of the Groundhog Day ilk, where our protagonist is stuck in a time loop and has to relive the same day over and over. I've always been a fan of Samberg and this is as good as any of the Lonely Island movies. A nice mixture of comedy and heart and you're golden!

People who think this is primarily a time loop movie are missing the point. Its first and foremost a Romantic Comedy. That said the time loop elements do add a fun twist to the genre. I honestly think Samberg gives one of his best performances channeling some of the less over the top parts of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Him and Milioti have great chemistry. Very fun and overall well made. Relatively light, but still intelligent.

My high score reflects the fact I am in the niche demographic who enjoys 1. Andy Samberg and the Lonely Island sense of humour, 2. time travel movies, and 3. movies rooted in themes of existentialism and the meaning or meaninglessness of life. Palm Springs is funny, self aware of it's place in the genre, smart and still manages to be sweet. Milioti was perfection and while at first JKS seemed to be superfluous, his inclusion is proven to be meaningful by the satisfying end (watch the credits).

Nothing really groundbreaking here, but it's another fun and enjoyable take on Groundhog Day. Perhaps to contrast with the premise, Samberg is more grounded here than his normal roles, which is a nice change of pace but also makes this less purely funny than other projects of his.

Andy Samberg would never be my first choice for a leading man and this movie does squat to change that opinion. Cristin Milioti was adorable in this. The story is a derivative of Groundhog Day and adds nothing new. Some humor but the gimmick is tired and cheap. The writers are hacks to provide us just a money grab me-too movie that you will entirely forget soon after the ending credits roll. Except for the beautiful doe-eyed Cristin Miliote who is now flash burned into my short term memory.

Palm Springs takes a familiar concept and transforms it into something fresh, heartfelt, and pretty funny through a combination of inventive settings and believable performances. The pairing of Samberg and Milioti is refreshingly honest and the film doesn't try to reach for jokes, instead letting its characters find humor amid the human moments of their situation. The supporting performances from JK Simmons and Peter Gallagher are also a bonus treat.

Once the story gets going and the excellent Milioti enters the spotlight, the film builds upon its concept in wonderful ways, provocative and amusing often in the same moment. Samberg is the weakest link, failing utterly to bring dramatic nuance to his role, but his miscasting is never critical: the effectiveness of his co-lead serving to cover much of his weakness even as it shows it in sharp relief. An engaging and surprisingly thoughtful picture.

One of those impossible movies brimming with magic and charm that's so well done it's a struggle to find anything to criticize. No, really — this is shockingly perfect. I don't know, guys. A few years ago, I sought out every time-loop film that existed (there's a lot). I feel like if all you've seen is Groundhog Day or Edge of Tomorrow, this will be refreshing and fun, but if you've seen all the movies I have - it won't be very original, and it won't stand out as amazing. I'm too spoiled on the genre. It's fine, the concept is fine, the characters are having fun, but it's a massively pointless movie...which is partially the point. But...eh. There's better.

Passable GROUNDHOG DAY imitator ties itself up in too many knots trying to overly explain its plot and premise, rather than organically developing it as its inspiration did – works best when resting on the easygoing chemistry between Samburg and Miloti, but too often slips away into silliness. Nice support bit for Simmons, though Squibb seems like an unnecessary addendum; sets up an intriguingly ambiguous denouement, before again losing itself in a far too literal conclusion.

Witty, emotive and innovative entry into the burgeoning time-loop sub-genre. Not just feel-good vibes - though there are plenty of them - but a good amount of drama and soul-searching too. This might be the closest thing yet to a spiritual successor to Groundhog Day, and doesn't pale by comparison, but benefits by it and certainly makes good use of shortcutting or re-inventing the now well-trodden tropes. Breezy comedy pacing with the tender heart of an indie drama. Can't ask for more than that.
