Panic Beats

Creepy Eurochiller about a rich woman with a heart disease who moves to her country estate with her husband to relax, only to be driven mad by visions and hauntings. About 2/3 of the way through, the tone shifts to more of a crime caper, with many double crosses leading to a big horror finale. Paul Naschy plays the weird husband and there's a cool ghost who wears a suit of armor and fucks people up with a mace. The spooky music is also pretty good.

Another adventure featuring Naschy in more than one role, and it isn't a bad one. The premise is interesting enough, and there are a couple of nice unexpected moments dotted throughout the plot. The direction is maybe a bit workmanlike, but it's easy enough on the eye, and the cast is decent. There is a feel of Rebecca about it at points, and a bit of a supernatural giallo flavour, aided and abetted by the score. Quietly enjoyable.
