ACTUALITY. Film taken from the top of the centre carriage of a moving train. shows the tops of the preceding carriages and engine as it winds its way through stations, under bridges and viaducts. This view was taken on one of the railway routes from Paris; on one of the stations the words `Bel-Air-Ceinture' are distinguisable (63ft). (bfi.org.uk)

Welcome to 19th century Paris! I can only imagine how it must have felt 113 years ago to be able to see images in movement, shot off the top of a train, no less.

Another of the early "Panorama" films where the camera just shoots anything that comes into view. Not much here, but then again not much to dislike. The ubiquity of video makes 19th-century film only look prettier

As he started out, Méliès tried a lot of the same subjects everyone else was doing, like this. The scenery is very nice here, though.
