This feels like the cross between a TV cop show and a Steven Seagal DTV movie I never wanted. Bruce Willis is barely in this and he's dubbed throughout. John Travolta did fine but they seemed to have given his quirky dialogue which seemed out of place in this movie and Stephen Dorff just looked very tired. Everyone else was pretty terrible and their acting was shit. Oh, it was nice to see Branscombe Richmond.

When movies that take themselves seriously go wrong, they turn into comedies. Paradise City is so disjointed that even deprives us of those hysteric laughs. 10 minutes to the end, Bruce Willis utters information that we should have received in the first 20 minutes, using "moving pictures" not monologues!

This being a late career Willis movie I went in with low expectations. With those expectations the action didn't totally suck. Everything else did alas, above all the acting.

A truly terrible, bottom of the barrel, straight-to-video ‘movie’ that feels like something Steven Segal turned down for being too clichéd and poorly-written. Set in Maui but the shoestring budget here just means an episode of the shitty Hawaii Five-0 remake seems Oscar-worthy in comparison. Earns an extra half-mark purely for the morbid fascination of seeing what has become of the careers of two of the stars of Pulp Fiction and the director of The Mask.

I came to say Goodbye to Bruce Willis and stayed because this amateur shit was directed by Chuck Russell, who used to be a studio director in the 80s and 90s. What happened?

Knowing that Bruce Willis and John Travolta are in shitty movies now, I wasn't expecting much, but the thing that surprised me the most was, how did Chuck Russel, who directed The Mask and The Blob, fall so low? Anyway, I hope Bruce has a good retirement, I will miss seeing him in the movies.
