The latest Jason Statham shoot em up, he plays a professional thief going after the crew who screwed him over and left him for dead. When Statham is doing his thing it's pretty good with a couple of brutal fights, but all the boring crap with J-Lo threatens to grind the middle of the film to a complete halt. Her character is pointless, stupid and annoying...seriously, every time she opened her mouth I wanted to punch her fucking teeth out. Also, Nick Nolte looks like he died 5 years ago.

A good crime flick and an about average Statham one (I'm a fan). Main problem with it is that Parker isn't very Parker-like. Not cold enough or ruthless enough by miles. If you want to read about Parker's many exploits there are 24 Parker novels written by Donald Westlake under the pen name Richard Stark. The Hunter, written in 1962 is the first of them, and it was also the basis of the 1967 movie Point Blank, staring Lee Marvin. Mel Gibson's Payback (1999) was a remake of that. Watch them!

Runs slightly longer than it has a right to. J-Lo does well enough in her role, unfortunately it's a role that's not written to do much at all for the story and writing her out would have improved the pace.

Loved the stupid flashbacks to the opening scene "OH RIGHT THOSE WERE THE BAD GUYS I FORGOT !!!" It's not boring I GUESS. I really liked Statham's Texan accent and wish he kept that stupid thing going for the entire movie.

Statham is enjoyable. He pretty much always is, even if sometimes his choice in post-Guy Ritchie movies leaves a lot to be desired. I enjoy watching him as an action hero, but there just isn't much in Parker to thrill you. It's not bad, it's just not overly good. It takes a while to get exciting, and the stuff when it's not is okay. It's just a lot of meh.

Does Parker have magic anti-detection powers? Because it felt like every time you turned around he was stealing a car or breaking into a house *completely* undetected no matter how many people were around. Parker is a low-reward crime thriller with not a lot of punch, despite Statham's always-entertaining spin on his character. And not to sound like a blind hater, but goddamn does J-Lo ever suck in this. She's just not a good actress, and her whole sub-plot and story is not interesting. Pass.

Average Statham movie. Someone double crosses him then he makes them pay. And he always has a beautiful woman around this time Jennifer Lopez.

This was a film that seemed to have a certain amount of potential to be one of the better Statham-flicks. In the end, it's not. It's too long, the romantic angle was really weird and unrewarding, and in the end I'm not sure what I'm left with. The plot seems to be a mesh of random elements haphazardly thrown together. Really not worth anyone's time, despite the obvious draws like Statham being Statham. Oh, and the relatively frequently used flashbacks were surreally unnecessary.

Ah, January Movies. Unusually for a Jason Statham movie, it's not particularly well paced. Some plotlines handled better than others. Villains/supporting characters aren't particularly interesting (hi, Bunk!). Jennifer Lopez's role is pretty understated and she doesn't really factor in until late in the film. Decent use of the main location. Without Statham this would be a bland disaster, but he elevates it to watchable. (His fake Texas accent is hilarious)

Parker is occasionally exciting, but it takes way too long to get to the point where it's enjoyable, meaning much of the audience is going to get lost before that point. I know I was. I found my brain wandering, wondering how exactly any of this could actually take place. A Jason Statham-led action movie can't be boring. This one is about what you'd expect once it gets rolling, and for its target audience, it will be appreciated.

Essentially "The Transporter goes to Miami". Typical Statham film. I like J-Lo in this. Great cast, average film. Good for a lazy afternoon in front of the telly.

It kind of lacks something during various parts. Elaborate, but not all there. Jennifer Lopez's role was sometimes jarring as she seemed meant to add comedy to the story, but the way she was pushed into violent events and brutalized by characters felt at times too serious.

I'm going to admit that although, story-wise, this film is pretty weak, there are a few nice touches that give it a little more resonance than I've come to expect from a movie like this. Characters who at first seem pretty shallow are given some semblance of depth, such as Parker's fiance Claire (Emma Booth) and Leslie's mother (Patti LuPone), who seems to have more going on than even her daughter is aware of.

Better story than I expected. I didn't realize Taylor Hackford was directing (Ray, Proof of Life, Devil's Advocate etc.) which I'm sure helped. And JLo looks like she's come down off her high hosre a bit--she had the only role with any depth to it. The bad guys were the weakest part, that and Parker jumping out of moving cars, and holding on to a balcony rail with 4 broken ribs and a guy hanging onto his leg; IOW, Statham was Statham. Nick Nolte doesn't look like he's long for this world.

This movie has all the makings of a great heist-gone-wrong, but it's just terrible. Jason Statham's movies are usually great, and I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't. J-Lo has some pretty decent movies, for example "The Cell," but in this, her role in it was so small as to be basically unnecessary. There's nothing her character did that Statham's couldn't have done without a little recon.

An action movie left in park. I usually like Jason Statham, despite his utter lack of great one-liners. This was not one of his better movies. There is a distinct lack of action throughout most of the film. Also, when the movie description touts a "Thief with a unique code of professional ethics", you know you are in for a doozy...

It's a little too long and a tad boring, I blame the pacing and score for this. Also I think Jason Statham was miscast in the lead here, Mel Gibson fit the role of "Parker/Porter" (Payback) best. Another thing that didn't quite work was that for a crime thriller there wasn't really any tension to speak of. Unfortunately it also lacks a sense of fun.

Stathem has a face that lends itself well to the Parker I imagined when reading Westlake's work, but it's certainly obvious that this is a Parker movie in name only. The character is all wrong and J Lo is completely out of place. I can say, if anyone gets around to adapting more Parker movies, good or bad, I'll watch them.

What's not to like, really? Explosive, well-shot action sequences; a charismatic, colorful cast; lean, efficient, breezy. Doesn't take itself overly seriously or pour on the irony. If this doesn't turn out to be among the sharpest action pictures of the year, I'll be surprised.

Statham does his shtick well, but it's not enough to redeem Parker. Lopez thinks she's in a Rom-Com, and as the two leads don't meet until the midway mark, the whole film is left with a rather disjointed tone. The acting isn't bad per se, it's just the directing and script don't help whatsoever.

I found myself with a smile on my face in many scenes -- the moralistic finale, the violence justified by principles, the cheap telefilm camerawork -- and heard people laughing a lot when J-Lo fired a gun until it clicked. And why? Because this is good cheesy. It's a highly enjoyable B heist/revenge film, truly violent and funny in its depiction of an anti-hero that is just a righteous man -- cold killer, bright outlaw, human that gets hurt and lover that doesn't cheat. A hell of a soap, too.

Throughout the entire picture, Mister Statham looks as bored as a busboy at the 1976 Republican National Convention, but still manages to deliver a healthy dose of his patented kick-assery. Ass-kickery? Whatever. Unfortunately, the story blends with just about every other Jason Statham movie ever made, meaning that the only thing I'll likely remember about it in 6 hours is J-Lo's badonkadonk.

Revenge action-thriller that contains a little more brains than yer usual Statham affair. Still enough bang crash & wallop for his fans mind, with a couple of decent heists thrown in too. Lopez looks lovely and plays her part well, even if you do feel her character is a tad unnecessary. Was Nolte recovering from a stroke when he made this?
