Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 is a horrible movie from start to finish with absolutely nothing present that's redeemable or even competent. There's no humor, no heart, no intelligence, and no reason for you to waste your money on it. I can't imagine anyone having even a slight semblance of a good time with Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. Forget it exists.

Seriously?! 'Mall cop' and it doesn't even take place in a mall?? Aside from that, this film is bad. Only if you like stupid humor this is something for you. Enjoy. 20/100.

One of the most incompetent and inept films I've seen in quite a while, not just comedies but from any genre. This rates up there with Get Hard and The Interview as one of the worst movies I've seen this year, And that's saying something because I've seen a lot of shitty movies.

More wholesome, family oriented humor, so intentionally never insulting anyone that it turns into a bland wad of nothing. I can't imagine that people the world round were calling for a sequel, but here it is, it's boring, it's not funny, and my patience has run out. For what it's worth, it still got a higher rating from me than three of the four "Hunger Games" movies. Man, those were piles of crap.

I know we're supposed to sympathize with the character because he's the prototypical "nice guy", but... I don't. What's more, I don't find this funny. Like... at all. It's a shame because I like James. I mean, you lazily telegraph your mother getting murdered by a milk truck, and that's supposed to make me laugh? Really? Sprinkle in a bunch of bad, stereotypical humor, and the whole "I take security super-seriously you guys"... it all just reeks of laziness, despite trying too hard to be funny.

I don't know what this film is, but one thing it isn't is funny. I laughed once. There's also very little action. I'm pretty generous to bad comedy films, but this just lacks any charm. Avoid at all costs.

The fact this is not really set in a mall pissed me off.

This is so much better than the first one, it embraces the dumb (and there is a lot of dumb) and runs with it, creating something that is actually enjoyable

Paul Blart moves forward with the series in the same nonsensical way that Austin Powers did; it deleted much of the old story for the sake of moving forward with a movie that probably never should have gotten a sequel. Where Austin Powers succeeded, Paul Blart fails in most respects. Kevin James still does a pretty good job of playing a hapless loser who has too much heart for this cynical world. The story in this movie was fun but, in the end, pretty dumb. I've seen it twice and that's enough

Though it’s been barely 18 months, I can't recall if this is objectively better or worse than Part 1 - it certainly seems to lack the more grounded and gentle approach, this time plugging Blart into a more high octane Seagal/Norris crime story (and McDonough is from central casting as the villian) - lumbers along without much rhythm, leaving some of the more bizarre digressions to steal the show as isolated moments of hilarity (especially the very funny escalating battle with the bird).

Just like the original, it starts off painful. I think it stays that way a little bit longer than its predecessor (which I can't remember a thing of now, so good thing I made a Criticker review blurb about it), but then it veers into passable and even gets kinda enjoyable towards the end. I even laughed once or twice during the dumb side characters fight scene. I feel like films that cast Neal McDonough as Generic Villain should be fined for their lack of ambition. Should've used Bas.

6 years after he saved the day at his beloved New Jersey shopping mall, security guard Paul Blart (Kevin James) is taking a well-deserved vacation. In recognition for his hard work, he's won an all-expenses-paid trip to a security convention in Las Vegas, and decides to take his teenage daughter, Maya (Raini Rodriguez), with him. True to form, however, Paul just can't relax and take it easy, so when he uncovers a criminal threat to the hotel, he springs into action.

It's not close to being a great comedy by any means, but it made me laugh a few times and I wasn't bored. That's good enough for the most minor of recommendations.

Blecch. But the kids liked it. And in truth, it would have been a whole helluva lot more tolerable if Paul Blart weren't such an abhorrent, aggressively dislikable character. I kind of want to beat up Paul Blart. Seriously. But the slapsticky climax elicited a few chuckles. And, like I said, the kids liked it.

I haven't seen the first one, so I missed some of the vital exposition. I don't usually watch this sorta shite unless its this infamous, so its a marvelous experience trying to figure out how you do a Kindergarten Cop style comedy and botch it like this.

I love Kevin James a lot but this is almost unwatchable. Gets better in the second half but the first half just doesn't have anything going on. I've seen most of his new sitcom and it's actually quite charming so I can't lose my faith.

"Help someone today." That's the ultimate message of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. And much to the film's credit, the salient sentiment isn't utterly undermined by the kinds of comedic content that so often carry movies like this in disappointing directions. Guffaw-inducing chicanery and Three Stooges-like pratfalls are aimed squarely at a 10-year-old audience here. Indeed, children at the screening I attended yukked it up delightedly from start to finish. (pluggedin.com)

I watched this because of #deathblart and as a companion piece to a really funny podcast this movie is... still terrible. But at least now I know what the guys are talking about. Yes, the banana scene is the highlight of the movie, the scene with Jackie Sandler is one of the worst scenes in movie history, Kevin James is entirely unfunny and the whole bird fight sequence is absolutely ridiculous. Everything is trash. Except for the banana scene. That one is gold. Solid comedy gold.

The podcast "Til Death Do us Blart" brought me here, and I regret every minute of this movie. edit: ACTUALLY, on my rewatch... Glue foam, the old banana and the Shadowman-lore adds like 10 points. I like and respect just about every actor but Kevin James in this movie. NOT TODAY, DEATH!

Why make a comedy that has no laughs? The characters, situations and dialogue all fall flat here. Overall this film is terrible.

The Blart Side of the Mall, where you synch Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon on loop to this movie, is a transcendental watch; few things like it. Recommended. Not sober, of course. Whereas the vanilla movie is cringey and weirdly paced,

I know there's lots of people who have a vendetta against Happy Madison productions. I feel Kevin James is the exception for Happy Madison. I loved the original Mall Cop because it reminded me of a parody of Die Hard in a shopping mall. If you liked that than you will enjoy Mall Cop 2. Yes, it is more of the same but it still delivers the laughs and provides what it sets out to do and that's deliver family fun entertainment. 3 STARS

What the hell was up with that bird fighting scene? That pretty much sums up this entire movie for me. What the hell was up with a sequel to a movie that was not even that funny to begin with?

This years least necessary sequel? Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015) with The King of Queens Kevin James returning as a mall cop going on a mall cup convention. That in itself lowers expectations enough to be ready for what one is about to witness. The comedy tries hard to be funny, but there are more fails then homeruns in the laugh department. But there are laughs, so I'm tempted to say it was better then expected. That's not saying much though....
