This documents the career of Pavarotti the celebrity, not the opera singer. Actual opera rears its ugly head, dumbed down sufficiently, only insofar as to explain why anyone knows who he was at all. A pity--he really was one of the amazing throats of the last century, More shameful is that my teacher, the great John Wustman, Pavarotti's longtime musical partner/accompanist is mentioned in passing exactly once and not credited at all, though he is seen and heard several times in archival footage.
