Penn & Teller Get Killed

A movie about ballsy audience baiting that ends on exactly the weirdest note that it possibly could. I laughed hard, and that finale... wow.

Weird. Worth a watch.

The last 90 seconds of...overkill (ahem) aside, this low budget shaggy dog proved shockingly fun. I'm not really a fan of their act but once I got used to Penn's abrasiveness, I enjoyed it.

Not as interesting as their live performances.

I'd never heard of this before I stumbled across it and now wish that'd remained the case. Coming across as a half-arsed, last-minute production for many reasons, the acting is so bad you start to suspect everything was filmed in just one take. There are a couple of rare chuckles and decent set pieces but the pair's stage shows are much, much better.

A tonally disjointed blend of the tragically ludicrous and the ludicrously tragic, Penn & Teller Get Killed is nevertheless utterly hilarious and surprisingly clever. Its success is heavily dependent upon your penchant for their brand darkly comic stage magic, but I;m an unabashed fan, and it worked for me.
