There are obvious comparisons to be made to just about everything that Ritchie had put out in the decade leading up to this one. You could even call it a knock-off, emulation, or whatever. But Ritchie doesn't have a monopoly on stylish, funny, UK crime movies, and "Perrier's Bounty" might not be very original, but it certainly is competent and entertaining.

A decent little yarn but I'll still not sure how it got the cast it did, given most of everyone Irish and good is in this. Still, passes the time well.

I had fun with Perrier's Bounty. Do I remember much about it? No. Does that make it not worth your time? I don't think so. It entertained me for approximately 90 minutes, and after I watched it, I felt pretty good. I laughed, I watched some people get shot, and there wasn't a dull moment. This is a good escapism film about a man trying to pay off a debt to someone you don't want to become indebted to. It's well-paced, well-acted, and doesn't last any longer than it should.

"A would-be eccentric thriller not quite saved by Jim Broadbent's spectral, wacky performance." - Bill Weber

The plot is thin yet the movies tries its hardest to appear better and more important than it actually is. Felt very much like a Martin McDonagh throw away. That said I happen to really like Martin McDonagh, so the style worked for me. Plus I've always like Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson. Though Jim Broadbent steals the movie. So while you could certainly do worse; the film could have also been tweaked into the something much better.

I've recenty seen Brendan Gleeson's stellar performance in The Guard, which was a blast, the funniest film I've seen in a long time. This is the director Fitzgibbon's debut, and sadly it's amateurish and prententious. One of the most stupid and iritating voice-over narrations in film history. The main problem is that it tries too hard to be seen as not taking itself seriously. It reminds me of Big Lebowski, not similar to the film per se, but tries to do similar things (and fails).

In spite of a basic plot and somewhat uninspired cinematography, "Perrier's Bounty" is redeemed by its very witty dialogue and amazing cast members - who are CLEARLY enjoying themselves immensely!
