The unofficial story of Bonnie & Clyde according to J. Edgar Hoover. One of four films Paramount did based on the writings of the FBI boss. Honestly these films are fairly hollow. The writing doesn't make the characters come alive. Probable because they're only supposed to be evil, and here J. Carrol Naish was a poor choice as "Clyde" to a much more interesting Patricia Morison as "Bonnie". Probable the least interesting adaptation of the famous crime couple.
