Pete's Dragon

Definitely shows its age, but its charm and sweetness are like a balm. Plus, the villains are pretty funny.

I always did enjoy this one when it came on the Magical World of Disney. The on-screen chemistry between Elliot and Pete was on-point. Mickey Rooney deserved at least a nominee for supporting actor. A huge oversight that will never be forgiven.

A timeless feature in my childhood.

Imigination in one of it's best visual portrayals.

This is just too fucking charming. It does have a bit of nostalgia factor to it but I can honestly say that I genuinely enjoy this. The music's good, the characters are likable and Jim Dale and Red Buttons are fantastic. Massively underrated.

This dragons breath fizzles out. I remember loving this film as a kid. I mean, who doesn't want their own dragon when you're younger (or even older). Coming back to this movie now as an adult, it's really shown its age. The mix of animation and real actors is still good just like Mary Poppins but...

Loved it when I was a kid. Looks like it hasn't aged well, but I'll be damned if I give it a bad score.

Liked this as a kid, but not stood the test of time too well. Also, like so many live action Disney films of the era it’s massively too long.

Terrible movie with many terrible songs. Only one or two songs were okay and Doc was better than this movie deserved.

Disney: The Lean Years. Not bad, not good just not anything.

My original score of 30 was really too harsh. While I don't enjoy the movie these days, it really is a great film for children, but it's strictly that.

Fun movie , but a tad long.

The animation is spry and cute, and there's a simple charm to its late 19th century/early 20th century childhood fable qualities. But, 'Pete's Dragon' is an obnoxiously mawkish movie, with a run time needlessly long thanks to a number of embarrassing musical numbers.
