Superior to Mulberry St. in its attempts at 'ethnography' (i.e. as a document of people and place) because the place has greater historical significance, a wider range of views are shared, and the people are more diverse, colourful and interesting. Whether it amounts to anything of real significance is another question entirely, but Ferrara's appreciation and enthusiasm for this milieu is clear and genuine.
