Piccolo mondo antico

A Italian drama with a semi-serious tone. They were still trying to find their expression so everything appeared lighter than intended. Here however the ugly characters did look ugly (top marks to veteran actress Ada Dondini!) and there was tragedy with a serious tone, though not of the same urgency as their European colleagues would produce. Good solid example of what the Italians could produce in those early war days when on form and not wanting to produce silly comedies.
