Pinocchio's Revenge

Imagine the movie the poster promises. Now hold on to that fantasy because it's better than the actual movie in every way.

This is very much what you would think it is. A 100% rip off of Child's Play and Child's Play 1 at that so you know it's a snooze fest. I liked the mom and the relationship between the daughter and the mom is one rarely seen in horror flicks. Apparently Verne Troyer played the doll on certain parts but someone might've been pulling my leg on that one. Worth seeking out for those enthralled with horror knockoffs and that's about it.

I actually did appreciate the angle this goes for, though I seem to be the only one. Admittedly, it's quite slow & plodding for basically the entire runtime, & Pinocchio's actual involvement is minimal, & the entire third act is a tangled mess that would've been a lot more impactful had it made any sense. Still, this takes the killer doll genre trope of "But the kid must have done it guys!" & runs with it all the way to home base- with mixed results. Rosalind Allen is pretty good here, at least.
