It's hard to pinpoint why the film doesn't really work as well as it should: maybe it's the confusing editing and direction which keeps the viewer at distance. Or maybe the overacting (especially Bentley), cliches galore (there's even a limping villain) and plot holes. Underwater photography is impressive but it's not enough to recommend this. There's an interesting story here but I'm not sure this was the proper way to tell it.

All of the power of a slightly intriguing conspiracy thriller based on a true story, but none of the truth.

A terrible misfire of a potentially brilliant thriller concept. With talent like Aksel Hennie and a premise involving plumbing the depths of the ocean, this could have been a hit. The first minor problems were unintelligible dialogue and frequent language switching in the opening act. The remainder of the story just involved him running around in a paranoid state, trying to scale the hierarchy of evil suits, with random action surprises thrown in. No logic, no sense, no meaning - just a mess.

I have a hard time getting excited about Aksel Hennie, and the narrative is a bit tiresome, with interchangeable villainous characters who aren't properly explored. Well produced, OK film.

Presenting important "forgotten" norwegian history which deserves to be remembered. It fails to entertain the viewer. And ultimately this story deserves better
