Plane Crazy

It's much better than Steamboat Willie in many ways (it has a plot), but it's also much less memorable. Additionally, I'm starting to really question the things going on in early Mickey cartoons.. Steamboat Willie had animal abuse/molestation, and in this one Mickey lures Minnie up in a plane so he can attempt some light RAPE, leading Minnie to nearly commit suicide in an effort to escape his clutches. What the hell?

Classic of animation... about Mickey as a creepy lecher.

In an attempt to impersonate Charles Lindbergh, Mickey Mouse instead becomes a combination of the Wright brothers and Henry Ford.

There's some creepy stuff going on here but it's still pretty funny.

Meh, really forgettable. Micky getting sprayed by milk was mildly funny.

It's often forgotten that this is Mickey's first appearance, probably because he's a massive rapist and animal torturer here.

Produced before Steamboat Willie (not that the order really matters much here), and once again similar to the Oswald shorts, right down to Minnie inheriting a tendency to rebuff our fresh and overeager protagonist. Hopefully the fixation on cow udders in the first two shorts will not continue. The sound effects (retrofitted after Steamboat Willie showed they were what would make the series a hit) were the big selling point at the time, and they do work.

Interesting for what not you can use a dog, really.
