Pluto chases a kitten through a window and right into Mickey's lap. Mickey scolds him, and goes off to wash the kitten. Pluto falls asleep in front of the fire, and dreams of a hell ruled by cats where he is put on trial for all his crimes against cats and, of course, found guilty. (imdb)

As Žižek points out in 'The Pervert's Guide to Cinema' this is intended as a parody of the 'show trials' that took place in the mid-late 1930s in the Soviet Union. In other words, it's propoganda that makes clear the 'comical evil' of this aspect of communism. But, to me, it can also be seen to confront us with the equally preposterous activities of the 'House Committee on Un-American Activities', particularly during the height of McCarthyism. Whatever the case, it's terrifying.
