A timid 26-year-old with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, left home in Baltimore in 2006 and set off on a self-described "crash course in manhood." He bought a motorcycle and a video camera and began a trip through Northern Africa and the Middle East. When revolution broke out in Libya, Matt joined the fight against Gaddafi. With a gun in one hand and a camera in the other, Matt fought in -and filmed- the war until he was captured by Gaddafi forces and held in solitary confinement for six months. (pointandshootfilm.com)

An amazing story matched with unbelievable footage.

I'm having a hard time figuring out whether Curry lacked the courage to make any kind of statement about Vandyke's unmistakable narcissism or if he instead let the footage speak for itself. Since I think the footage speaks for itself, I'm inclined to appreciate this as an observational critique on self-obsession, despite how deeply unclean it made me feel.

A combination of war story with coming-of-age through the eyes of a weird and gentle dude, who left Baltimore to fight with his friends against Kadafi, being in prison and suffering quite a bit. The main thing here is how a guy raised to be just a common person wants to find his inner self by living his own adventures. When he finds himself in the middle of the war, he notices this attempt to become a true man takes him to darker places. The National songs put in the soundtrack also help.
