Compiled from TV footage of the 1954 Army-McCarthy hearings, in which the Army accused Senator McCarthy of improperly pressuring the Army for special privileges for Private David Schine, formerly of McCarthy's investigative staff. McCarthy accused the Army of holding Schine hostage to keep him from searching for Communists in the Army. These hearings resulted in McCarthy's eventual censure for conduct unbecoming a senator. I didn't expect this be as funny as it is. It distills the Army-McCarthy hearings to its most petty interludes and dynamic exchanges, yet still enough information shines through to make it all intelligible to someone with no previous knowledge of the subject. I'm not sure if I'm more impressed by the editing or the fact that this stuff all actually happened. I wonder if other countries have films like this.

Wasn't sure how to rate this... There wasn't much creative effort put into the actual film making beside choosing which segments of the hearings to present. Well they chose wisely and I can definitely see how the growth of television was McCarthy's major downfall
