Trash-Camp-Postmodernism-Non-linear plot-Action-Drama-Comedy-Japanese animation? YOU name it. Pokémon combined in this think-peace genres and cultures better than anyone else AND has a main character who can shoot electricity of his tail in it. Eat that, Fellini.

Pretty boring. Look, the first movie was pretty badass, Mewtwo fucking things up, cloning shit and stuff. This is just boring, filled with screaming annoying pokemon and Ash being an arrogant prick

Hey! I got a free Mew card from this. Nostalgia alone makes this watchable.

Marginally better (and at least livelier) than its predecessor, but this is still a film best left to fans of the Pokemon franchise; its simplistic yet simultaneously convoluted plotting, and slipshod 80s era animation, makes it tough going for anyone unfamiliar with the franchise.

Even more of a disaster than its predecessor, Pokemon: The Movie 2000 choppily integrates a dull story, poor voice acting, and irrelevant characters into a 102-minute mess.

Rated for Nostalgia alone, the film itself is actually pretty awful. ...Okay really awful. ...Okay, dreadfully awful, but hey, 90s youth were easily entertained, alright.

Even as a tiny crazed thrall to Nintendo I found this kinda disappointing.

Again this film stands as made only for the fans. In that respect it is a well made film with an affecting story which makes great use of some of the greatest legendary Pokemon in the canon. Not to mention some interesting character growth the series is not known for.

bursting with ideas, wild and even surreal, legendary birds are black metal as all fuck, but then lugia just had to open his stupid fucking mouth.

The pop songs included in the English version are still atrocious, and the storyline while far better still reveals the hypocritical aspect of the brand, but this is a great improvement on the first film, pushing for a larger, imaginative scale - the voice acting, visuals, spectacle, jokes etc. are better - and for the most part succeeding despite its flaws.

Despite being somewhat more exciting than the previous film, this kiddy flick still lacks any real adventure or excitement. What it does contain is choppy animation and poor voice acting. Doesn\'t match up to virtually anything out there.

A bit bigger and more cinematic than the first movie. The story is a little exaggerated though, isn\'t it? Still, like the first movie, it can be entertaining for the fans.

Marginally better than the first, although that\'s not saying much. Team Rocket provide some more decent humour typically for the age group this is aimed at. The rest of the film just about holds together.

The beginning of this is horrible, barley slogged through it, the writing is infantile pontificating. One can\'t argue with the message, certainly far worse could be preached, and those cute little pikachus smacking each other is about the saddest thing ever.

Technically it\'s better than the first film...but that had Mewtwo so whatever. You either fondly remember Pokemon or you don\'t, if you are the latter, you aren\'t going to be watching this anyway.

Deserves some recognition for going all out in the least. It is a film. It has a plot. There are characters. It came with a card.

The high point of the movie is when they say the word \"sex.\" In Pokémon! Other than that, it does nothing to elevate itself above Saturday morning cartoon level, which is fine for 21 minutes but not a feature.

at one point there is a part where Mewtwo faces a mountain and the mountain (after studying many other mountains in Japan and elsewhere just to make sure) is clearly Mt. Rainier in Washington state, meaning according to this film's canon, the Orange Islands may be in the Puget Sound.

Wow. At least the first Pokemon movie had something approaching a theme, this is just a mess. Worse than just being a mess it is a damn-near 2-hour mess. Surely, this series' ability to print money (the entire thing would make 1.5 billion a year by the '20's) would eventually lead to high-quality animation and VO work?
