Annoyingly dull road movie (with an elephant as the vehicle), made even more annoying with some awful cutting back and forth between timelines with no rhyme or reason, making this a confusing watch initially. And the flashbacks near the end of the movie would've made more sense at the beginning, making this feel like a clumsy and unclear film. The more attentive middle section is better, which introduces some fairly interesting (and even unpredictable) side-characters.

*Sigh* ... so this is the movie that's going to make me say it. Okay, here goes: It's far from perfect, but isn't life itself imperfect? This is a strange movie that, under the right circumstances, becomes soft and malleable in your mind as you watch it. It lacks linearity and momentum, for which it makes up with abstract and colorful detours. It hit many different themes, connected to me in many different ways, and overall was just a pleasant watch. Recommended.
