OK I can appreciate what this did for both Canadian film and the T&A college comedy. Kim Cattrall is definitely smoking hot and probably puts on the best actual acting in this shlop. I watched this two nights ago and can honestly not remember anything about it aside from the aforementioned Kim Cattrall being the only one who brought some life into this waste of time.

Amazingly this was written and directed by the same guy who did A Christmas Story and despite the seemingly good natured coming of age vibe, the characters are bigoted and unlikable and often the humor is cruel and uncomfortable. That's how I felt about Christmas Story anyway. This was fine.

Juvenile. Crude. Dated; and thus far from politically correct, even though it tries hard to be. The Mike Hunt bit was pretty amusing. (If you haven't seen it, say the name fast...)

Only rated as highly as it has been because it's more a right of passage film than a real comedy ( and only if you are of a certain age). Dated, quite funny in parts and a mix between a carry on and the breakfast club !

I'm sure this would be severely dated now, but at the time, it was on HBO constantly, and for a -prepubescent child, that probably made a good deal of difference

Yes, it's juvenile. But hey, I was a juvenile when I first saw it, and it still makes me laugh out loud, particularly when the faculty is discussing a tallywhacker lineup.

Porky's is a skewed perspective of the 1950's filtered through the lens of the sexual revolution. It's so historically innacurate that it may as well have been set in the 80's, but it does lend a certain anachronistic charm to the sexual shenanigans, which merely confirm that the experience of being horny and young transcends time and place. The film has dated in some respects, but there are a few laugh out loud moments, and the cast perform the outlandish material with infectious enthusiasm.
