Postcards from the Zoo

A slow-burning, somewhat mesmerising abstract tale from an Indonesian zoo. The plot is a side-thought as the director more often gazes upon his muse, Ladya Cheryl, and suggests that the audience ponder on our purpose on this planet, our relatinoship with animals and with other humans. Despite its philosophical nature, the film doesn't come across too slow and boring, provided you are in the right mood. Interesting images, a good aesthetic sense, and just enough meat to keep you chewing.
