The plot centers on Maynard (Shannon), a beloved local businessman who is mistaken for the legendary Bigfoot during an inebriated romp through town in a makeshift gorilla costume. The sightings set off an international Bigfoot media spectacle and a windfall of tourism dollars for a simple American town hit by hard times. (imdb)

Imagine if a "Hallmark Channel" or "Lifetime" movie full of well known names and faces, suddenly just got invaded by a unique Bigfoot movie with a prominent Furry subplot, and you'd get this entertaining little watch that should be perfect for your next holiday with the family. Just be careful if the movie happens to spark a Christmas Day conversation that reveals a relative that knows...just a little too much about, "what exactly a Furry really is".

Remarkable for being a picture perfect representation of a Hallmark movie, only while still containing a high degree of entertainment. The curious convergence of these two opposing attibutes is nothing short of magic.

A fun harmless movie with a ridiculously stacked cast but not worth calling a critic a cunt over like Ron Perlman did

A fine movie to stream in the background for no cost to yourself and then forget about a week later. It's unique enough to be better than the average feel good holiday movie lifetime or something might put out while still making you feel good about humanity and shit.

You can so tell some of the actors just narrowly fit this film into their schedule but fuck it it works out in the end. I thought I was gonna loathe some of the characters due to how obnoxious they were but I actually had a great time with this

Slow and sometimes sweet. I liked the quirky reserved shop owner played by Michael Shannon. Good music. The story is silly, somewhat humorous and mostly enjoyable until about the 3/4 mark when it begins to get stupid and continues going downhill from there. The ending did not work as it was tedious, corny and sappy.

A We Hate Movies watch, nothing to recommend it beyond that

Starts off quirky, stylish and fun. The cast is largely fantastic and the premise is certainly unique for a Christmas movie. Unfortunately, the film does run out of creative steam fairly quickly and becomes far too sappy for its own good in the final act. It's a shame because this could have easily ended up a holiday favorite, but it's still a fairly amusing watch.

Safe, warm and inoffensive Christmas film. Some quirks that make it entirely watchable. Perfect for the Christmas season if you crave a nice space for you brain to go unchallenged.

This is a fun seasonal film. The cast all do a good job here and they work well together. The script is not perfect but it works. Overall I would recommend this movie.

This was an easy watch. Warm and fun. Some cheesy parts, yes. I'm glad I gave it a shot though even though the reviews were terrible. This movie put me in a good mood!
