Its frustration is well communicated through its control, rather than exaggeration. The rapidly changing colours is edited with a splendid amount of energy.

At least these have a theme, they're all the hand-painted stuff. This is my favorite kind of Brakhage. I admit, though, that's it mainly because they're trippy and beautiful to look at. Brakhage's artistic rationales for these usually sound like hogwash to me, and they are somewhat interchangeable. Also hard to take in large doses.
