Charlotte is leaving. Before catching her train, she goes to her apartment for a quick snack -- a steak, as it happens. Walter accompanies her; the little time Charlotte will take to prepare and eat her steak represents his last opportunity to patch things up with her. A tall order, given the utterly unromantic circumstances... (imdb)

Cute little new wave short.

Even for a 9 minute film where almost nothing happens the dialogues are so silly and pointless that I can't stop hating it.

Odd little short that doesn't really seem to get anywhere.

Competently made, but rather boring. Nice also for people wanting to see a young Jean-Luc Godard act.

Lovely showcase of what Rohmer would come up with years later -- strained mise-en-scene with such powerful moments ("I wish I was dead so you could think of me").

An inconsequential but pleasant little short.

seems like the filler segment on some sort of middling french new wave tv episode. or a rather pointless 9-minute video-recording of someone's daily life. it's so tame that it also can't be too bad.

A couple eat bloody steak and flirt in this little short film no one would know about if not for later work and fame of people involved. I love how these French new-wave directors started by acting and doing other work in each other's films - it just shows how passionate they were about film and that they learned by doing.

Too short to be anything too substantial, but still it's cool to see a young Godard at least.
