Þrestir

Reminded me of another Icelandic coming-of-age film, "Noi Albino", but this is more naturalistic and probably paints an honest portrait of life in a desolate town where people fight boredom with drugs & alcohol. The scenery is beautiful and it creates a stark contrast with the flawed characters. The tone is still not that depressing until the film takes a left turn near the end, and even though effective - it doesn't lift the whole to another level. Mainly for fans of Nordic/Icelandic cinema.
