Very nice first half but then it badly deteriorates

Sloppy direction mars this otherwise entertaining romantic comedy about a patient (Thurman) who falls for the son (Greenberg) of her therapist (Streep); great performances, surprising sweet and realistic ending.

Well, at least the director never found work again.

The scenes between Thurman and Streep are the highlights. The rest is very cliched.

Amiable fluff, with solid performances by Thurman, Greenberg, and Streep. It won't be remembered by anyone, but it's easy to watch, and ends in a non-typical fashion, with enough investment in the characters to keep it compelling the whole way.
