An autobiographical short film about the suicide of the filmmaker's father, an Armenian artist, this is a highly evocative collage of sound and image that almost wordlessly manages to convey great emotion, and makes very obvious the great talent possessed by this young director. Perhaps the title is meant to evoke Klimov's 1983 film (which I have not seen), originally meant to have been directed by Larisa Shepitko before her death, and in some way to honour her. Saakyan, too, died far too young.
