(after repeat viewings) Among my favourite screenplays of all time: the non linear structure makes for a deliciously madcap viewing experience, in which Tarantino weaves together threads of mirthful mayhem, disarming sweetness and genuine hilarity into an amazingly coherent whole. There aren't enough thumbs in the world to do Pulp Fiction half the justice it deserves, I just love this film!

Tarantino's savagely humorous, genre bending, verbal masterwork. With whimsical discussions and philosophical debates punctuated by scenes of casual brutality, a delicious volatility underscores this film. The verbose characters beguile, their inventively mundane banter interspersed with monologues engaging and intense. A stunning retro soundtrack, jumbled intertwining story threads, fine cast and abundant sense of style round out the brilliance.

This really is Tarantino's best movie. I feel really bad for everyone that got overhyped and left this movie feeling disappointed though. It's easy to get overhyped with something as iconic as this, but it's iconic for a reason. I absolutely loved the nonlinear storytelling and the sun natural blend of blood, comedy, and randomness. I've seen this countless times and feel as if it has most definitely stood the test of time. Some career best performances are present too. Top 10 for me.

To say something about this film.. Well, where should I start? The quotes are legendary, the way the film is built is incredibly clever and well done, the cast is one of the most amazing ones I've ever seen, the humour is perfectly attached to all the action scenes, ... After watching it for the 10th time, it's still one of the most amazing movies ever!

Quantanamo Tortuga's finest hour and then some. Like some kind of extreme Seinfeld where the bickering characters find the mundane in murder ("How does it feel to kill a man with your bare hands?" "Couldn't tell ya") and the simple miracle of being alive. There's a free will/causality thread smothered under all the expletive and black humor, even the running gag of situations escalating every time Vega has to take a piss reads like a missed sign from a vulgar god.

I'll be honest, Tarantino has never done it for me the way he has for so many others. I mean, this movie is undeniably entertaining, but it feels like an adolescent fantasy deep-fried in amoral hipness. Yeah, I know, I'll turn in my cinema-lover card in the morning.

This used to be my favorite movie, though repeated viewings and the maturation of my tastes has dimmed my appreciation for it slightly. However, this is still as entertaining as they come. There's not necessarily a purpose to much of what Tarantino does in this movie - such as his lack of chronological storyline, moments of dialogue not tangential to the plot and so on - but it never stretches to give that impression: the quality of the end result is justification enough. Funny, tense, violent.

Tarantino's only decent work. Watch this, and you'll get an idea of what all his movies are like--preachy soliloquies drawing heavily from outdated pop culture, retro grooviness in the form of afros and gas-guzzlers, tough, bitch-slappy women who don't take shit, and a soundtrack that is obscure for the sake of obscurity. It is quite the romp, but once the honeymoon's over, only then do you realize you've just married a fat simian who eats pork rinds for brunch and wears a wife-beater to church.

It sounds trite to call this cool, but I do believe it's the very definition of the word. No other film made in the 1990s is as culturally/cinematically influential or interesting. The script is loaded with sharp-as-a-tack dialogue; some brilliant, some funny, some entirely thought-provoking. Possibly the greatest ensemble cast of all-time, with a dozen unique (and developed) characters. Additionally, the unique style of editing and entertaining story make it a treat for endless repeat viewings.

Jules, Vincent, Mia, Marsellus and Butch are cinematic icons. A mashup of familiar crime genre tropes, added Quentin's own characteristic sensibilities: inspired music choices, quotes to die for (and die after) and a temporal structure displacing the order of events in an - at the time, at least - refreshing way. Responsible for countless tiresome imitations, 'Pulp Fiction' is a contemporary classic I feared might prove dated but its originality is still obvious and its cool factor intact.

It's dark and bloody yet ridiculous and hilarious, and subtly clever too, as drugs, guns, and endless expletives are laced with the randomly mundane-the toaster strudels, the cheeseburgers, the radio-friendly soundtrack-and a melodramatic short-term plot takes intriguing deja vu turns. With plenty of outrageous dialogue (Jackson and Travolta are gold), black comedy (see the Wolf's cover-up), and off-kilter characters (Willis is another gem), Pulp Fiction has no trouble living up to its name.

THE film geek movie. And justifiably so - arguably not since Star Wars a couple decades earlier and not in the couple decades since has a single film had so many scenes, characters, and even individual moments and lines simultaneously and permanently enter the pop culture dialogue. The number of quotable lines is unreal, and it's a singular piece of virtuoso screenwriting and directing.

A truly remarkable script. Tarantino's masterwork spawned a slew of imitators all trying to bring the same kind of idiosyncratic dialog. None have matched it, not even the man himself. It's packed with excellent monologues, allowing several major stars to deliver landmark performances. I appreciate the movie's brain more with age. One of those films that sucks you in completely no matter what scene you jump in on, it's every bit deserving of the Classic status it's attained. Endlessly watchable.

This film had nearly no redeeming qualities for me. I know I'm in the minority in disliking it, but I'm sticking to my guns in saying "There's no THERE there." This movie is the king's new clothes--just because everyone says it's great doesn't necessarily mean it is. What's so novel about it? That they rearranged the scenes in the editing room? That's not novel, it's just silly.

Tarantino caught me in his intricate weaved web of storylines, refrences, and excessive violence. It delivers what it promises in the opening definiton of "Pulp". It manages to be tense, funny, engaging, and beautiful, and all the pieces work fantastically both separately and as a whole.

The way the different story lines intertwine and manage to pull themselves together is masterfully done, and leaves you with simultaneous impressions of the complexity of life and the purposelessness of that life. And of course, Samuel L. Jackson delivers some timeless lines, driving the whole movie with his badassery. That being said, Tarantino's trademark egotistical flourishes and senseless dialogue of "kinda"-poetry can grate on your nerves.

There's a lot to be said for Pulp Fiction. It has a host of incredible performances, especially from Willis, Jackson, and Travolta, along with some incredibly intriguing dialogue that makes us pay attention. The characters are also well-developed through Tarantino's non-linear storytelling, though at times it can be a slight hindrance on a first viewing because it is so strange in its order. Regardless of the occasional confusion, Tarantino's handle of his craft is extremely evident here.

Why is this one of the best movies of all time? Entertainment, Entertainment, and Entertainment! The infinitely rewatchable pulp fiction brings together the best elements of old and new cinema to make a movie that is so much fun that nothing else matters. This movie changed filmmaking for a generation--thanks in no small part to the constant knockoffs. But while future copycats steal the nonlinear storytelling, stylized dialogue, and pop culture homages, they miss Tarantino's more novel approaches. Pulp Fiction includes a common trope that continues in his later films: the joy of seeing characters walk a tightrope as they pretend to be someone they aren't. Oddly, future imitators rarely have such a unique literary technique. Highly recommended.

Pulp Fiction isn't really a movie you'd think of as "something for everybody," but though that's exactly what it is. It both won the Palme d'Or easily and currently is listed as the 4th greatest film of all time on the populist circlejerk that is IMDb. I don't like when people use the argument of "you hate it because it's popular," but it's pretty hard to find an argument against the film that doesn't feel either contrarian or found in some bizarre moral code. This movie brings people together.
