Meta humor--check. Quirky characters--check. Killer Nazi puppets--check. Undead Nazi Udo Kier--check. Okay...then how could something so wrong end up being oh, so reich? (I truly don't know. I just wanted to say that.)

There be bubs, there be gore, there be acceptable pacing, oh my god it’s a good Puppet Master movie.

There were a few cool and memorable kills, but if it wasn't for the gore, this would be one of the worst movies ever. The editing and pacing were trash and the script was garbage.

The fun wore off pretty quickly after the first doll stabbed someone (which was quite funny). I was really gearing up for some well-informed Nazi jokes and I was dissapointed. Middle of the road gore.

Really went for it with some fun over the top nasty deaths with extra bonus politically incorrectness. Udo Kier is only briefly in it at the beginning but he hammed it up deservedly. Barbara Crampton is in it much more and they gave her some good scenes too. There are some eye rolling scenes early when they're setting up the main characters but once they get in the car and start on their trip it's all pretty good stuff. And overall they did well with the practical effects. Recommended.

A solid if unexceptional Puppet Master film. If you mixed the full moon style film making with something from the Office or Reno 911 you'd get this. At time this comes off more like a fan fiction film than a movie in its own right but hey I'm a fan so it works for me.

The first "Puppet Master" movie to have no connection to either Band or Full Moon, which affords this one a budget far exceeding any other installment and it's noticable. The acting here is just regular bad, not inexplicably bad as with the previous several installments. Often times Full Moon movies look like they're populated with actors abducted from a hospital's brain injury ward. The biggest problem here is a creative change of direction making Toulon an evil madman, which just doesn't work.

Quite true to the Puppet Master legacy, with numerous and rather nasty killings, some of them hampered by bad directing or makeup effects (by 2018 terms). Zahler's script goes a little overboard with the Jewish theme. You probably have to be at a very specific phase of adolesence to really love its blend of gore and tasteless goofiness, but for the franchise it's a respectable entry.

Beside the kills, not much actually happens, and the kills are not set up that well. Gory, but gone in a flash and without context much, it's less shocking

Never seen any of the other Puppet Master movies, watched solely for Zahler's script. The execution is dreadful. Most of the acting is awful. This is as bland as shot composition can possibly get. But for as basic as the framing is, the lighting is far worse. At its absolute best, the lighting looks like cheap network television lighting, and at its worst, it looks like a straight-up YouTube vlog where they don't even know how to set exposure properly.
